You can block individual sites by add them to the hosts file with the loopback ip address.
e.g. a site added as 127.0.0.1 www.badsite.com will loop back to your Mac and not display the site

It means using terminal but the stet-by-step guide is straightforward enough. Though, as with all things terminal, read the info and only proceed if your happy to do so.
