What forms of reminders, if any do you use on your macbook?

How, if you do, do you remind yourself of important upcoming events on your macbook? I'd like to use my macbook to remind me of school events, homework, meetings, and other things, but I'm not exactly sure of the best method to do this. If you have software that you use to do so, please let me know as well.

Google Calendar with email reminders. Simple as that.

I use iCal with email reminders.
Also do the same thing on my iPhone when needing a reminder at a time I know I'll be away from the computer.

I use Apple's iCal and schedule an alarm appointment for each event/reminder. What's nice about that is iCal will have a pop-up alarm dialog along with an alert sound that shows up on top of any application I have opened. This way I don't miss any important reminders when working on my computer.

Also since iCal syncs easily with my iPhone the alert reminders will also pop-up there as well. It's great for when I'm away from my computer. I can also create new events/reminders on my iPhone which then syncs to my computer. This will work with the iPod Touch as well if you don't have an iPhone.

I can't live without this feature.

Perhaps it would be easier to suggest a solution knowing what you use to schedule events now (assuming you do). Certain solutions will work better than others especially if you want to keep track of these events across devices.

Another here for iCal's email reminders.

iCal's alert reminders are great for me -- as a MobileMe member, any changes I make to iCal on any of my devices are instantly synched to the other devices. My reminders go off almost simultaneously on my iPad, iPhone and desktop (but are subtle enough that this isn't loud or annoying).

Same to the iCal alerts. Incredibly handy. The school has a google calender that I'm subscribed too and then I make all my assignments as to do's and events. Couldn't live with out it.
Sort of the same thing but I also use spaces and I have one space dedicated to notes where I have my bulletin board if you will where I just put phones numbers, receipts, grocery lists, pretty much anything really which I also find quite handy.

But for short term reminders, don't forget Stickies in your Applications folder, or even the sticky dashboard widget.
