• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hi All....first post here, and if this has been covered already I apologize. Anyway if someone could tell me how to get .avif .vcdf and mpegf on to either a DVD-R or a CD-R so it can be played on a DVD player with just the basic software included on OS-X 10.2.8 I'd REALLY appreciate it! Do they have to be re-formatted? Compressed?

TIA,
-Jeff

Could you suggest a software program that would accomplish it?Toast maybe?

Your first step is to convert your video to MPEG, and then you should be able to burn it with toast. Toast should should make readble VCD's for your DVD player. So first step is a conversion. I haven't done this on a Mac yet, so I don't have anything to recommend. All I know is the first step :)
