mac OS disk to HDD

if you are like me always loosing things it is a good idea to make a disk image of the Mac OS X install disk, that way if you loose the disk you just burn the image to an external drive and use it like you would the disk.

it is so much faster than the disk as well

i know it works because i repaired permissions with it and installed the os.
i would put up pics on how to do it but i broke my disk (lucky i did this 3 months ago)

You could also burn a backup copy of your OS install disk or disks.

Do you like carrying around an external hard drive along with your MBP? You have to consider which is easier.... a duplicated copy as Nick suggested is best. Of course the best solution is not to lose your original install media in the first place.
