Great to hear you have it sorted, :) keep us posted if anything does go wrong, but from here out this part of your Mac life should be sorted :p

Too many...
Hi guys,

The upgrade has been done, I now have 766 mb spare on my MacBook pro. It runs great and hasn't overheated. So far so good.

Cheers

Tom

I sure hope you meant to write 766gbs :)
Can you take a picture of how much it sticks out when mounted?

Any 12.5mm or smaller drive will fit in a 2009 or 2010 Unibody

Any 12.5mm or smaller drive will fit in a 2009 or 2010 Unibody 13, 15, or 17" Macbook Pro. Currenty there are two that I am aware of. The WD10TPVT Blue Western Digital is a 5200RPM Drive (runs faster than you would think). The Samsung Spinpoint 5400RPM HM100UI drive.

Both will fit with no issues, plenty of room and they do not overheat.

Personally I recommend the Western Digital because the Samsungs have had some problems late last year.

Hope that helps!
