Snow Leopard Crashing

I have had my first mac, its a 15 inch 2.55ghz Macbook Pro, bought for uni. Since i have had it, it has had the grey screen with the 'you need to restart you computer....etc' in a few different languages about 5 times.
Why is this happening because as much as I hate to admit it, even my Vista didn't crash this much in the same space of time.
When it crashes I'm not doing anything heavy, mostly just internet browsing. The last crash was opening a new tab from facebook :/

Kernel panics are usually hardware related. Have you replaced any memory modules lately> Also maybe the hard drive is failing. Pop in install disc one of your original system ****s and hold down D after rebooting and run Apple Hardware Test Extended Mode.

You od still have the original install discs?

I do, i also have the techtools deluxe which came with the applecare protection plan and claims everything is fine.
I will do that and see how it goes, hopefully it will solve it.

The next time the machine goes into KP (kernel panic) copy the information from your crash log and post it here to this same thread. Let us have a look at it. Maybe we can spot what's causing it.
