I successfully installed Ubuntu 10.10 onto a 250GB SeaGate hard drive. I restarted my computer and held option as to pick my start drive and the drive did not appear. I then proceeded to boot into my normal drive, when i had logged in it told me that the external HD was unable to be recognized and to initialize, eject, or ignore the drive. I tried to initialize the drive and nothing happened. The drive is able to be modified by disk utility. I own an intel based standard macbook running snow leopard.
