What is your favorite "new" band from England? What i mean by new is started in the last 20 years not the beatles, led zeppelin ect. we all know that everyone loves them. Ill start; Oasis.

For new bands (bands that have only just released their debut album) then I'd have to say:

Bloc Party
Maximo Park
Razorlight
The Magic Numbers
Kasabian

There's no way I could narrow it down to one artist for this year let alone 20!

Edit: chouk, Travis are Scottish, not English :p

Yeah James Blunts album was pretty good, but I don't think it was that great. If you liked the album check out 'Under Cold Blue Stars,' by Josh Rouse.

What would you class as underground stuff then?

I see them live a few years ago and to be honest, they really sucked live, it put me right off them.

What gigs are people going to this year? So far I've got tickets to see the Magic Numbers, The Bees, Maximo Park and Sigur Ros.

Coldplay gets way too much airplay over here and I'm already tired of them.

Thats one of the reasons i stopped listening to American radio
