Hi, I have an Macbook Black edition ( 4 years old )
Which has a "Aiport Extreme" Wifi-card

My Router is an old "SMC 7904BRA"
It has a standard "WPA Personal"
As I'm aware off I have no MAC filtering

It worked great until one day, where I can see the router, but I can't connect to it ( I just get: "Connection Timed out" ) I have tried other wireless networks and they work like a charm.
I've tried the classic: "turn off... wait 10-20sec... and turn on" ( the router ) but no good... all the other laptops/smart phones/consoles work great, there is no problem with their connection what so ever...
So I have come to a conclusion that there is something wrong with my Macbook... just don't know what... I have tried almost everything with no luck....
So now I am asking you guys, what you think it could be... Thanks a million for you answer(s)

Similar issue - Airport Utility update

This sounds like a common problem.

It seems your best bet is to raise a fault with Apple about their Airport Utility update. Curiously enough, I hope they release the fix as a download from their website as well as part of their usual mix.

What encryption are you using on your access point?

Can you connect with no encryption on at all?
Can you connect with only WEP on?
Can you connect with WPA?
Can you connect with WPA2?

if you cannot connect plain, no encryption, then it's not the same issue I'm thinking of but try those above in that order and see if you can get past the first one or two.

Just wanted to add:
When I try: "Assist me" I get to the point where I need to type in the password.... But it keeps telling me that the password is: "invalid" when I know for a fact, that is is correct.... and when I don't use a password ( unsecure network ) It just keeps trying to connect but nothing happens :(

Hi, I have some good news and some bad news....
I got the Airport-Wi-Fi working by resetting the router... but the bad news is that it ( so far ) gets connection time out if the:
- Computer hibernates
- Dies due to lack of battery life ( When I turn it back on )
- e.t.c

But what then helps, is to just restart the computer or put it in hibernation mode for around 2 min and then back on....
Maybe for the most people they would be fine with this state which I am in.... but not me, I want to know the root of this problem so I can fix, and maybe help someone else which might encounter this problem as well. :D

Any help would be appreciated :D:D:D

Hi, the problem is BACK!
And this time these things don't work anymore, and I have tried reseting my router, but no luck... I have tried everything that I have found on Google, but NOTHING! my only option now is to kick apple in the nuts!
I am absolutely sure that it's a bug in Snow Leopard, which I can't except! >:O
