I have an older dual G5 1.8 GHz tower circa 2004/2005 currently with only two 80GB drives but want to upgrade to 1TB. Anyone recommend any particular drives?

Thanks,

Thanks,

Personally I don't think that there's a REAL big difference between hard drive brands. Check these guys out:

OWC

...they have good prices & should have something that will satisfy your needs.

Try this one it is on special:-

1.0TB Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.C 'Jupiter' 7200... (0F10383) at OWC

It is SATA II and reportedly backwards compatible with SATA I which is the speed of your G5. Usually this works automatically but have seen a couple that require to be 'throttled' back. You do this by using jumpers. See the manufaxturer's wen site for this if you have any problems.
