sparse bundle

Had my macbook pro for about 8 months and still think its a great machine.
But I've got this problem with my time machine, I keep getting this message
"The backup disk image “/Volumes/Timecapsule/macbookpro13’s MacBook Pro.sparsebundle” is already in use."
This is causing the back-up to fail, I don't think I've changed any settings recently.
How do I get rid of this problem, I'm not particuarly computer literate so please no strange words.
I've done a search and google but cant really find anything that helps me.

Unplugged everything, made a brew, plugged it all back again and hey presto, three back-ups and no sparse bundle.
