Thunderbird keeping emails on server

I cant seem to find the setting under server settings that lets me keep messages on the gmail server? Anyone have this problem?

Your Mac's Specs
2.8 GHz 15" MacBook Pro OS X 10.7.x & some old Macs
I believe Gmail is a little different in that you have to choose that option from Gmail's settings instead of your email application. The feature is in the Gmail's POP/IMAP settings. I'm assuming you are using POP because with IMAP your server will have the same emails left over as on your computer.
