I am thinking about venturing into the world of "Mac" and buying an Emac G4 700 mz, 40gb DVD rom M8891LL/A model with 10.3.2 0/S for my first tentative step. I understand that it would have an ethernet port but wondered if anyone knows for sure wether the M8891LL/A model has the slot for an airport card? Also, if this model does have the airport slot, does it require the extra adapter cradle for it.

Thanx in advance

But does model M8891LL/A actually have the airport capability? or do all of the public sales versions of the emac have them? The link is very informative thanks.

All eMac's have an "Airport card slot".

The more important question would be...which model eMac's support Airport (wireless "b") and which models support Airport Extreme (wireless b/g). Answer...the 700mhz eMac supports "Airport" (wireless b).

The Airport (wireless b) card looks like this:

Just seen that there are some USB wireless wifi dongles that are 802.11.B compatible , does anyone know if these would also be OK for use with the Emac 700mhz M8891LL/A ?
If so, what speed delivery difference would/could using either make?

I personally have not heard many positive results when using these...and besides...a used Airport card costs about the same (or just slightly more)...and is much more compatible.
