I'm going to be getting a MBP at the end of the month and was just wondering if it is worth me paying an extra £34.80 to upgrade the hard drive from a 500GB serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm to a 500GB serial AT Drive @ 7200 rpm?

Thats about $45 dollars US. Not sure if it's worth it just for the 1800rpm difference. What brand of hard drive are you upgrading too? How's the ram on MBP?

I agree. It's not going to make that much of a difference, and besides, you can always do the upgrade yourself later on probably at less cost.

I wouldn't do it. If you were upgrading from something like 200 GB to 500 GB then I'd do it in a heartbeat...but going from 5400 RPM to 7200 RPM isn't worth much more than $10 (US) in my opinion.
