My machine is clogged up with many GBs of music and photos. This means I have little space to upgrade to Snow Leopard etc etc.
One answer I thought was to maybe transfer all my photos and music to an external hard drive (not the one I use for Time Machine back ups) and run both iTunes and iPhoto direct from that.
Is it relatively straightforward to move these files from the Mac hard drive and then run those programmes successfully? Also, I assume, Time Machine would not automatically back up from another external drive?
Its either this or shell out for a new Mac which i cannot really afford at the moment.
Appreciate advice for this probably ignorant poster.
