Hello all. I have an iMac 27 inch running Snow leopard. About 5 weeks ago I had a problem where the system would not re-boot. I went online to try to solve it but eventually took it back to where I bought it (Future Shop). It was still under factory warranty luckily.
They ended up restoring the iMac to factory conditions. Stupidly, I did not have a Time Machine back up or any other except that I was able to save all my files as a disc image.
Luckily I was able to mount the image so I did not lose any data.
My question is what is the best way to restore all my preferences, applications, System, Library etc. I know I can't just copy over and replace all of theses files and folders.
Has anyone ever had this issue and does anybody have some advice on how to proceed.
Thanks very much.
