• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hi this is my first article and i am reasonably new at this and with the gritty bits and pieces of computers.
My dream is to produce video documentaries so i bought a macpro 2008 model running 10.6.5 with 2 by 2.8 Ghz Quad core Intel Xeon, 10 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM, ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT Graphics card, 5 terra bytes internal and 3 terra bytes external hardrives.
Now i kinda packed it out as i film and edit in HD 1440 by 1080 mini DV footage and have started a new series about building a motorhome camper and have been fortunate to be sponsored as well.
The problem i am having is the viewer picture is constantly freezing uop and everything in imovie 11 is going real slow, i do have a lot of footage on the computer but still have only used about half to 2/3 of the drive space so why is it slowing down, after all i thought this was the movie makers set-up ?
I have to release another video soon so help would be really appreciated.
