I have a small command line program that normally runs as a background application. But sometimes on Snow Leopard it starts as a foreground application and appears in the dock when the OS is starting up.
The program is setup as a Startup item and is based on the carbon framework.

I never saw this behaviour when the command line program was running on Leopard.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can prevent it from happening?

It is suspose to start when the system is started, it is in the startitems folders.
The problem is that is appears in the dock when it should be running in the background
