chinese virus? can't restart? HELP

older ipod, ipod touches 3 &4, older imac, imac 19 inch osx. love them all.
my sister -- who is very intelligent but not computer savvy -- opened a file today on her newish imac from a friend. it was some sort of chinese ppt. it has taken over her computer, she can not access any other file; she has shut it down and restarted many times but to no avail.'

any ideas how to try other types of shut downs or other types of starts? anyone know anything?? HELP me help her; she's on the phone and very stressed!

OK ___ ITS all over. its all back to normal; no virus, sorry for the thread. i'd like to pull this, but am not sure how. jeesh. sorry! just glad everything is ok for her lovely wonderful imac.

And there are no Mac OS X viruses - Chinese, Caucasian nor any other species.
