leaving imac on all the time?

so i'm pretty new to the apple desktops. ever since i got my imac, i haven't turned it off yet. and it has been about 2 weeks. i do however put it to sleep mode whenever i'm not using it for long periods of time like when i'm at school or sleeping. am i doing this right or should i shut it down once a week?

It's totally fine to put it to sleep every so often.
