I think you should verify permissions in disk utility, as I hinted at in your other thread.

Sure.
MacintoshHD> Applications> Utilities> Disk Utilty

Open the program and it will show your HD's available, go to the first aid pane, and click on verify permissions. Once verified, click repair permissions.
Exit the program, restart, and then see if anything has changed.

Ok. I know this is a hassle, but I would trash iTunes, re-download it and re-install.
Of course you'll need to import all of your music again, but I can't really see what's going on.

Never seen that in iTunes. I have that exact same thing happen in Excel on the primary Win machine I use at work - across 4 computers, 4 monitors and 3 different versions of Excel over the last 10 years. Except in Excel, I have to go to a different page in the workbook and back to see my data again.

Don't have a clue how to fix it. Could try re-installing iTunes, but I doubt that's gonna do it.

Clean install of the OS then I reckon, you've pretty much tried everything else we can think of.

I have 2 External backup drives 1 of them is 250GB and another is 150GB but I didn't think that even if I backed up using time machine it would let me use my programs on a different mac! as the programs I have only have 1 licence!

Not knowing what exactly you have in your Apps folder, you will have to do some research on the Apps you are worried about, ie: seeing if you need to deregister them on one to put on another, or seeing how many machines your aloud them on.

There has to be a way around it, as if it was only for 1 machine people would never buy those Apps as machines break, people always want to the latest and swap machines everytime a new one comes out.
It means you have to do a little bit of work and find out what the deal is with your Apps :)

Cheers

EDIT : and take your BU ext HDD to the Appointment so if they give you a new machine the geniuses can help you migrate it all to the new machine for you

I am only really worried about Microsoft office 2011 which I paid £100 for and it has 1 licence on 1 Mac :( And my photoshop Elements which has only 1 user on 1 mac! I am sure Apple would have to replace my programs right? Because if I have lost them due to their faulty equipment?

Apple Live chat said for me to call up Apple support or call in to a store with the mac to discuss my licences!

Wonderful Apple Genius bar fixed it :) It turns out that it was my whole iTunes library that had glitched! He copied all of my songs and deleted the originals and starts itunes from a fresh! It works fine now! The only downside is he lost all of my 88 Apps :(

Apple is not going to replace any apps. You need to keep track of the discs and/or the activation codes for them. You losing those would not be Apple's problem.

What if you're hard drive dies? You need to have that stuff backed up and your discs and codes in a safe place.
