It is an interesting statement and it almost looks so from some of the screenshots. Hopefully someone will install it and try it out to let us know.

Display pictures.

Wow Microsoft, good job!!!

Save for "corporate" and "personal" IM tabs, and a revised GUI I don't see any earth-shattering changes. I was really hoping for video support.

wow this is hideous, the stupid side bar thing for the pictures is annoying even though it can be closed , it's still annoying , even though file transfer seems to actually work , but goodness , ill stick to AdiumX

is it possible to see people's picture in the main window?
it seems that i have to chat with the person to be able to see his picture profile.

if you have used programes like mercury that have all the windows features (albeit a bit slow) on a mac version 5 is like a slap in the face....but not an un welcome one

I like MSN 5.0

I downloaded and have been using it for a week. the only thing i really like about is the ability to now see other people's pics.

I really don't see how this is something to brag about...

Windows is already up to MSN 7.0, Mac should have the same.

Version numbers mean nothing across different platforms (for native code anyway) because the packages tend to be completely different beasts with different code and different development paths. Otherwise people would be complaining that the Mac has Office 2004 whilst Windows only has Office 2003 :p
