hi

jus bought a g4. i tried using a PC based usb mouse (the mini laptop models), which i am using for my HP Pavillion.

it didnt work, unsurprising. the red optical light glows, but no tracking.

the mouse isnt branded, its a chinese make with no name, just a serial number - PL00JK.i have tired USB OVERDRIVE, doesnt work.

anyway to make it run on my g4?.

thanks

Actually, it is surprising that it didn't work if you are running OS X.
First, check the System Profiler to see if it shows a mouse on the USB port. If it does, I would leave it attached, then do a reboot. The mouse should work with no further setup needed.
If the System Profiler does not show a mouse on the USB port, then it is possible that a driver may be needed, though this is very unlikely.

Even if you are running OS 9, the mouse should still work, but the right button may be disabled.

Do you have another mouse available? If you could borrow one, you could at least verify that your USB port is okay.
