Hello all. First time here and hoping someone can give me some insight.
The other day I was printing some images from my iMac G5 when it just shut down completely. After multiple attempts to turn it back on, nothing. I mean it's not making a peep. I tried plugging it into various sockets around the house but that didn't work either.
Is this what happens when a hard drive packs it in?

Thanks in advanced!

Try booting from the grey install disks that came with your iMac. Hold down the c key when booting. Then if it boots run Disk Utility. Good luck! Post the results.

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Another vote for dead power supply and the bad news it my not be worth the cost of repairing. Apple did have a replacement scheme for defective iMac G5 power supplies as it is a very common problem, however this finished two years ago. Have a read of this link and see if there is any hope:-
