So I've recently made another post about my recent purchase, the 2010/11 Mac Mini.

Now, on the status of the order, I ordered it on:

Order Date: Dec 31, 2010 at 05:10 AM GMT

Which was the beginning of Friday morning, so I thought, maybe it will get put in the transaction process and things would be under way quickly, but then I was reading up and I realised due to my 2GB - 4GB Ram Upgrade, that instead of "Shipped in 24 hours" deal, I got the:

Estimated Shipping: 1 - 3 business days

So I thought, okay, okay. It's just an estimated shipping date, all they've got to do is add in two 2GB slots and it's all good, can't take too long can it? After all it is apple.

So I then looked at the Shipping estimate date and boy was I disappointed:

Estimated Delivery: 12 Jan, 2011 - 17 Jan, 2011

Now, if this date is actually accurate and my Mac Mini doesn't reach me until the 12th-17th, I will be extremely disappointed, not only is that almost 2 weeks away, I have never had to wait over a week for a purchase, I've been reading up and 85% of the time these estimates aren't true and a lot of your apple purchases come a week before this is stated.

My mum went and ordered me a new iPod Nano (6th Generation), with an engraving for christmas, She ordered it on the Monday and it was there on the friday, so it can't be too bad right?

Suffice to say guys, I'm just wondering, anyone who has had a fair amount of experience with ordering from Apple;

1. Should I expect that it will not come until this date?
2. In the past have your orders come early, late or on time?

The more information the better.

Thanks alot.

Dan.

There is no one here that represents Apple. Our guess would be as good as yours.

Excuse me!!!!

1. That language is not allowed here.
2. The benefit would not be that of those replying. The benefit would be to you from those you are requesting help from, that they would be able to read your help request.

Apparently someone doesn't ever want help here again.

That's not really the right kind of attitude to have for someone who wants help.

Poor delivery times?

I ordered my Mac on the 31st and it's still not been shipped, now I know we've just come out of the holiday season and what not, I can understand that, but the fact is that it's almost the end of the day yet again, it's 15:22 and my items have still not been shipped?

I find this a little pathetic in my personal opinion.

Is apple always this slow at getting their hardware out or what? I would of just gone down the store if this would of been the case, saves me the hassle.

Anyone else had problems with them?

Patience my man, do you think your the only customer?
Stuff takes time, I have had to wait a week for my stuff because there is a huge backlog in the UK because of the weather recently.
If you don't like waiting, go to the store and get it, simple.

You ordered on the eve of a holiday, and they noted shipping within 1-3 days. They are still within that time window. Your machine has to be configured, prepped, packaged and then handed off to FedEx / UPS whatever and then on from there.

You want to see a wait?? Order a computer from Dell!!

It's not that, it's like.

The closest Mac store to myself, is Liverpool which is 30-40 minutes away, so it's not as if it's far away.

That's probably not where it's going to come from, but still >.<

I know i'm not the only customer, but it's frustrating. >:

EXACTLY!!! If the nearest Apple Store is only 30-40 minutes away...and it seems that you need or want "instant gratification"...why didn't you just go directly to your Liverpool Apple Store instead of ordering online?...and then post on Mac-Forums complaining about shipping times???

That's like living right next to a "Fish & Chips" joint, calling them on the phone, and having them deliver the food. I mean...get off your butt!!!;)

I didn't know where it was in Liverpool and I didn't want to be walking around all day.
There's also the possibility that they don't have it in stock there and what not.

I prefer ordering online, it saves me effort.
But, the waiting game is not my thing.

Haven't you ever heard of "Google Maps" or "MapQuest"...or a popular mapping program in your neck of the woods? All you would have to do is "map it out" beforehand.

Don't you have phones in England/Liverpool?;) You could call the Liverpool Apple Store to see if they had what you wanted in stock before going to the store.

Liverpool is a big place, I'd get lost anyway, haha.

And Well, I sold my phone and we got rid of our house phone as it was prooving to no use and I find it rude asking to lend people's phones to deal with my own business, lol..

p.s. Sounds like you could use a new phone a LOT MORE than a new Mac-mini!;)

Oh, and BTW Liverpool is not that big. If you have issues on 40+ square miles you are in trouble!
