Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm trying to connect this drive to my MB Air and actually go in and select files and docs and things... not just do an automatic backup that it seems to want to do. I have to free up space ASAP. Thanks! :)

Is it formatted for the Mac?
That's the first thing to do.

Or if you don't want to format the drive, get a driver/app to read the filesystem.
I presume it's a NTFS drive? Quickest way would be to get an app called ntfsMounter. Works like a charm.

Other options are Paragon NTFS and NTFS-3G.
