• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I'm looking for some hardware and software.

1. Component video capture device (i already have a composite i need a component).
2. A software that allows me to record video and sound of my computer screen (like if i make a guide on how to do this and that i can record w/e i do on my computer screen)

I want to see if any exist for MAC (or windows), the names, and possible price range.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section and TYVM for your help.

There was an issue.

It did not record sound and the only way i could record any sound was to use a microphone and it kept picking up some weird sound like a whistling, chirping echo-y thing...

And i use my microphone with iMovie a lot and it never did it before so i assume it's an error with quicktime
