Hey everyone,

I hope you've all had a great Christmas :)

My girlfriend's old MacBook (the old white plastic one) packed in the other day and I need to get her a new HD. I was thinking of ordering some more memory too as currently it contains 2 x 512MB PC2-5300S.

I've never bought a new HD for a MacBook so before I go and order something I want to check what it suitable. Am I right to think that any 2.5" internal HD (at the same speed as the current dead one - 5400rpm) will be ok? If so, I can just grab a fairly cheap one from Amazon.

What about memory?

Thanks so much in advance, I really appreciate the help.

Have a great week :)

Both of those should be fine. If you are looking for memory, you can go to Crucial.com and plug in the laptop information to either order the memory or at least get the specs.
