First post. :|

Well I bought an iPod Touch 4g earlier today, only to realize that I couldn't run iTunes 10.1 on Tiger, great.

One thing lead to another, and I decided to upgrade to Snow Leopard. I bought the $30 disk, started the installer up, and apparently I don't have enough ram on this computer.

How much ram would be appropriate, and how much money would this cost? Serial number is W8602A8XU2N and I'm on 10.4.11.

Thanks :D

You need a minimum of 1GB. You have a 17" iMac (2006) with a 1.83GHz Core Duo. I'd actually recommend maxing it out to 2GB before you go over to 10.6.

2GB will run you around $45, depending on where you get it from (I'd recommend Crucial.com). You could go with a single 1GB module and have 1.5GB, but you're going to find that your experience is much better with 2GB under 10.6.
