Ipad Sync Problem

I recently recieved a new Ipad and when I plugged it in to sync I had to update Itunes, I did and restarted, I went to about Itunes[or whatever] and It WAS Itunes 10.1(22). When I plugged in the Ipad It said Ipad"Ipad" requires ittunes 10.1 or later.

? Please help I need this tonight.
