G5 Power Mac memory upgrade

Hey, have the possibility of obtaining a Power Mac G5 Dual 2GHz but it will need some memory. I've got a PC I'm stripping down that has some memory in:

Corsair CM2X2048-8500C5 2GB DIMM DDR2 PC2-8500U DDR2-1066

Now I realise their speed is greater than the mac and additionally, as they are 240-pin modules and they are 2GB modules, they would only work with the most recent version (i.e. late 2005), but I was wondering in principle whether these would work or whether I would be better to get new RAM?

I don't believe those modules are compatible. The late G5 takes 240 pin PC2-4200 (533 MHz) DDR2. You would probably be better off purchasing new memory.

And further there are several models of 2GHz DP, PCI, PCI-X and PCI-E Dual Core using different memory alas. Need more details of the model. Do not try PC memory as your G5 must have low density modules and th majority of PC memory is cheaper, high density.
