Well, I just got done with a clean install (I decided it would be best for me, since I didn't have much that I needed on my disk anyway), and so far everything has gone extremely smoothly :knocks on wood: I'm just finishing up restoring my iBook software (which was also extremely painless :knocks on wood again:), and then I'll reload my MP3's that I copied to CD today. After that, I should be all set, with just a few other minor things to take care of. Hat's off to Apple for making this an enjoyable and stress-free upgrade.

More kudos for Panther
October 30, 2003 - 00:47 EST David Zeiler's latest column for the Baltimore Sun gives high praise to Apple's latest update to Mac OS X, 10.3 (Panther). He concludes, "Whether Panther is worth the money is ultimately up to each Mac user, but the abundance of cool, desirable features will pry open a lot of pocketbooks. Apart from the marquee features, there are dozens more less obvious ones almost as impressive. They all add up to one terribly tempting upgrade." Incidentally, AP had similar comments and kudos. "The most noticeable changes take advantage of the Mac's advanced graphics, which leap over the capabilities of Windows-based machines," notes AP's story. "Microsoft's next release, code-named Longhorn, won't introduce Windows users to similar features until 2006."
