Hi fron Newbie - I've deleted my Applications Stack!

Hi all,
Just got a new MBP 13" and my applications/utilities stack seems to have disappeared from the right hand side of my dock during the last few days. It used to be next to the Downloads and Documents stacks and I can still see and load the apps from finder.
Where has my stack gone and can i restore it? It does't appear to be in the trash.
Apologies if this is a really obvious Q as i've been a Windows user for ever.

Dock is merely an alias so go into the Home > Applications folder and drag it to the Dock. This creates a nice new alias there.
