Cant log into admin

Hi, I just bought a used Ibook and most of the settings are locked down, I tried inserting the install disk and pressing C to reset the password, but startup disks are disabled,but I cant change startup options cause they are locked neye: . Any Ideas? Its OS X Tiger, and the guy I bought it from wont return my calls. Thanks.

If you can get to another mac and plug it into it via a firewire cable you can boot it using cmd+t for firewire target disk mode. You'll then be able to format the iBook and install the OS from the second mac to the iBook. Just select the firewire drive as the location of the install.

The firmware security may not allow target disk mode but it's worth a shot.

That didnt work. Any other Ideas?

I guess the worst case scenerio is to open it up and remove the pram battery to wipe out the firmware. If there in fact is a removable pram battery.
