Hey guys. I need a low-cost (or better yet, FREE) program that can allow me to simply make a 3D model of a scene from a play. I'm not talking about an animated story, but just as if you were looking at a 3D model that someone built by hand. If it's interactive, all the better. Any and all help is appreciated.

[Programs that can be used in Ubuntu are great too]

I have already tried Blender and Alice. Blender seems overly complicated, and Alice is unfortunately too rigid (not enough objects to do what I want) for the task that I am trying to do.
