Hi guys. I work on an iMac and I shall add Windows system.
I would like to confirm if my iMac is able to protect all my files and settings during and after the installation of Windows (I shall install Windows System by the boot camp assistant).
I have used 17 GB on my iMac, and I rather not to copy all the files on an external disk; that's why I ask you about this...
Please, I am attending your replies; and I shall be happy by receiving your replies soon...
Thank you for reading :)

PS: I'm from Lebanon; and I do love Apple products! They look very professional and wonderful; and they are really the best computers. But I would like to install Windows system because of Autodesk Software and several programs...

The boot camp assistant will split your hdd into two partitions. It will then install all the windows files onto the "windows" partition leaving your OSX partition completely un-touched.

Welcome to the forums.

Some solid advice ... before you install windows ( Bootcamp or Virtual Machine ) make sure you have a backup on an external drive.

Your iMac will not protect you against human mistakes.

Just make sure you follow the boot camp instructions carefully, read every instruction that is given. Although really by "Human Error" i'm sure McBie means don't do something stupid lol
