Couldn't magnets in certain iPad cases be potentially harmful to the device? I've noticed magnetic closure mechanisms in PDAir, Marware EcoView, etc and I wonder how or if it would affect the iPad. TIA

Usually the magnets in cases are so dull they have no adverse affect to the product inside. If you see one you like, look around on forums/ google etc i'm sure someone will put their bad-luck up somewhere if anyone has had any.

I don't see how it would affect the iPad, flash memory isn't as susceptible as traditional hard drives to magnetic interference. However, as Buzzard stated, you would need one really powerful magnetic to wipe a regular hard drive, let alone flash memory.

No problem with my iPhone4

case or iPhone3 case before that. Years of exposure to magnets, not a hitch.

I am looking at buying the Ipad fridge mount for my Ipad to attach to my fridge for when i am in the kitchen. This is obviously a strong magnet and i wondered if it will damage my Ipad. I see a few of you guys have mentioned that a magnet could wipe a hard drive however i know someone who has this mount and has never had any problems. Comments? thanks

As has been mentioned, the iPad does not have a hard drive so no worries there. If you know someone who has personally used the magnetic mount and has had no issues, let that be your guide.
