How can I set iPhoto as my default application to use when I open any picture?

Because it's really annoying to click "Open With" and then click "Other..." and then select iPhoto from the list of applications

I tried ticking the box next to "Always Open With" after I selected iPhoto from the list of applications but it still didn't work the next time.

Thanks :)

Wrong forum for one.

Second, try this: Right click -> Get Info -> Open with -> Choose app -> Change all.

Third, make sure you're opening all the same type of file. Pictures have many file extensions; i.e: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .tiff, .raw etc etc.

Do you really want to set that option? You won't be "opening" the picture like you would with Preview, but you're importing it into iPhoto. This would happen with every picture that you just wanted to "have a look at". Your iPhoto library would soon become cluttered with unwanted pictures.

More elegant solution:

1. Select photo (single-click).
2. Press spacebar.
3. When done staring at photo, press spacebar again.
