Despite screen saver option being set to never come one and display set to sleep after ten minutes for the last two days the flurry screen saver has been coming on - and stays on all night. Wht's going on and how can I make it not happen?

Easiest way to fix A lot of weird stuff like that - works quite often and same thing in Windows also - go into preferences and turn it on - log out and back in - head back to preferences and turn it off.

Sometimes it'll work just by closing/re-opening preferences instead of logging out.

Give that a try first.

Thanks bobtomay. logging out didn't do it but a restart did.

I was going to suggest a restart too. I know there are advocates of never having to restart their computers but I have noticed that a restart every once in awhile fixes these "weird" problems.
