My dad just got a new HDD put in his iMac since his HDD died and now needs a way to get all of his songs from his iPhone 3G S onto his new HDD. He did the "Transfer Purchases" already and got a lot of his songs back, but a lot are still not on there. The ones not on there are obviously ones that he got either through CDs or other methods, and I want to know if there's a way to get into the iPhone's filesystem and like find the music files and copy them into the iTunes library or whatever. Any able to shed light on this situation please reply. Thanks.

If you have a windows machine you can just go into the iPod/phone and copy the files out like from any other drive.
I don't know how to do it on a Mac
