I know this has been posted 100 times, and i apologize for making another thread about this. But, i have been searching and troubleshooting for an hour and can't get it to work.

im running this mini dvi-hdmi to this hdmi cable to a 46' Dynex LCD tv. I connected everything, the hdmi is plugged into the "hdmi 3" spot. Put it on hdmi 3 and no signal. Any insight to what i need to do?

Start here - post #2.

Btw: That mini dvi to hdmi is not. It is a mini displayport to HDMI. They are not the same thing.

Well, first off, your MB does indeed have a mini-DVI port. So, you can't be using the mdp adapter you have linked to in your first post as it won't fit into the port on your machine. It also appears as though you will not get audio to that TV from your MB using HDMI as the TV does not provide for a separate audio in port with any of it's HDMI.

After reading through the manual, my best guess... You're probably not going to get it working using HDMI. There is not a single mention of connecting a DVI device.

Personally, I would suggest giving up the frustration and use a VGA cable along with the mini-DVI to VGA adapter that shipped with your machine.

Need to look at the back of your TV. Looks to me that the PC audio port takes a 3.5mm stereo mini-plug, same as your MB, not the RCA jacks.

And you should already have one of those adapters if you haven't lost it.
