Hello-

I am using my brother's computer and for some reason I cannot get any windows to minimize or re-size by using the control mechanism in the bottom right hand corner. (the three diagonal lines are there, but no arrow or indication pops up and it doesn't move)

I talked to my brother and he said it has been like that for sometime and has no idea.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Sorry, I'm a newbie to this stuff.

Thanks.

Back to my old 2.2GHz C2D MB after selling my MBP and wondering what my next Mac will be :)
To resize from that corner (the 3 diagonal lines), no arrow or indication is meant to pop up.
What you do is left click the mouse while you have your cursor arrow over it, and drag it away from the bottom right corner to where you want it.
As for minimising a window, you need to either click the yellow dot on the top left of the window, or click command M.

Yeah, Windows has the indicator arrows. OS X doesn't. Follow the advice above. If it doesn't work, you may have problems with Finder. As if that wasn't obvious.
