I'm having a devil of a time logging onto video chatting software, namely Skype and Gchat video. I can't connect to Skype and get an error message: "Can't connect to Skype. Please check your network connection." But my friend sitting next to me is logged onto Skype via the public network, so it can't be a network problem. Gchat also gives an error message about network problems.
My recent upgrade to OS X 10.6.5 didn't fix the problems. Neither did reinstalling the latest versions of Skype and the Gchat video plugin. I'm at my wit's end and would love any suggestions for connecting to at least one of the programs.
