I just noticed this morning that the sound in the games on my iPad aren't working. I tested the music, videos, podcasts, etc, and they all have sound...it seems to be isolated to the games. I have made sure all my apps are up to date, and tried restarting the iPad by holding down the power button.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Your notification mute switch must be flicked. The thing that used to be the orientation lock.

That was it!! Thanks for the help...that suggestion didn't come up in my google search. I didn't realize that was a change in OS 4.2

Thanks!

I had exactly the same problem and I've fixed it by going to Settings- General and setting Use Side Switch to option to Mute.. then I turned the side switch on/off and the sound returned.. (don't ask why it just worked)... Cheers!
