Safari slowing down and freezing?

Hey guys, my 6 months old MBP 13 inch has safari on it and it is sloowing down a whole bunch and freezing to the point where the little rainbow circle is popping up. I've had to use google chrome which is much faster IMO. But i would like to go back to using safari, but i can't bear how sluggish it is. What is wrong?

You didn't give us much to go on and that makes it difficult to offer solutions. How much hard disk space do you have remaining? Assuming you're running Snow Leopard, are you current with all the updates?
