I have mac office 2008. Whenever I copy an image from excel into word it takes from 60 to 90 seconds of frozen office to import the image, and it will sometimes crash while trying. What gives?

Moved to correct forum. Does not belong in "Switcher".

It would be helpful if you gave us some info about your Mac and which version of OS X it's running. How much memory do you have? How much hard drive space is free?

I have no problems copying or transferring images into Office Word 2008 and I routinely copy some very large images. Are you trying to copy a Excel graph or spreadsheet into Word? Keep in mind that Office 2008 needs quite a bit of memory and having both Word and Excel open and copying an image can consume quite a bit.

Updated to latest version of 12.2.8?

And for Office 2008 the latest update this week really opens the program F-A-S-T. Some improvement!

I have 12.2.7, so maybe i'll try the update. I have an iMac, 3.06 GHz intel core 2 duo with 4 GB ram 665 gigs free on my terabyte hard drive. I am copying graphs that I made in excel.

Why does it take so much more memory on the mac than it does in windows? I went to the school to finish my paper and it copy's over lickety split, no problems at all. On the mac the graphs are difficult to modify once they are in a word document also, giving the same lag time.

That is what happens with a machine without an upgradeable graphics card.
