iPod Touch 3G 4.2.1 RIDICULOUSLY Slow - Anyone Else?

Hi all,

I have experienced an unbearable slowdown with my iPod Touch 3G through the last couple software updates. Examples:

If a song includes lyrics, it takes about 10 seconds to load. It takes 3 - 5 seconds to tap the screen and turn off lyrics.

Dropping a letter in Words with Friends takes 3 - 5 seconds while the screen freezes.

Often when exiting to the home screen then going back to playing music, the iPod freezes, then shuts off the music. I lose any current position in any playlist.

Scrolling in webpages is awful.

Has anyone else experienced a similar slowdown? I have restored on my own, then took it to the Apple store, they restored it, then I have completely wiped and reinstalled a 3rd time. Nothing has helped.

I'm still under Applecare, but I don't think Apple cares, if you will...
