problem with iPhoto, please help

I recently had a failure to install an update for OSX, iTunes and iPhoto. The failure jacked my whole computer up and I needed to reinstall Snow Leopard, once I did this my iLife programs stopped working. Whenever I open iPhoto it says that "The library is not compatible with iPhoto." And all it will allow me to do is quit iPhoto, I have tried to remove it and to reinstall it but it does not seem to be working is there anything else I can do?

What version of Mac OSX did you have before Snow Leopard?

I'm guessing your iLife suite was an older version, which doesn't work with Snow Leopard.
