The Sims 3: Startup/Crash issue

I recently re-installed the sims 3. Here are my system specs:

Hardware Overview:

For both of you guys...check out this Sims 3 installation procedure:

How to Install Sims 3 on a Macbook White | eHow.com

In step #4 it mentions something about a "patch"...did you guys do this part? I'm not sure how old the article is...it may be outdated...and this "patch" may no longer be part of the installation process.

well you should be able to run it without the patch... I'll try patching and see if that helps. Will let you know. From the way it's behaving I have a corrupted game disk and/or conflicting files...

well you should be able to run it without the patch...

Everything should work...but sometimes it doesn't. That's probably why this patch was available. But as I mentioned...the article that I linked may be old...and install disks/files of Sims 3 since then may have been corrected.

Can I ask...are you installing Sims 3 from an original install disk (Macintosh version)...or was the install file downloaded from the internet?

I did all the patch updates and it works now. Been playing all day! This game is addictive!
