How to find amount of free space on hard drive

How do I find the amount of free/used space on my iMac's hard drive and on my external hard drive?

Late '09 Macbook Pro 13"
Open the finder. At the bottom, it should display free HDD space.

Another way is right click on the drive and on Get Info. That shows you all the info on that drive.
